PORTLAND, Ore. – A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a vehicle in Northeast Portland Thursday night.

The woman was crossing Northeast Sandy Boulevard in a marked crosswalk at 42nd Avenue when she was hit by a westbound green Ford Explorer, according to Portland police. The crash was reported at 7:10 p.m.

The driver, Anthony L. Barnum, 54, remained at the scene. He was accused of DUII, third-degree assault and reckless driving.
