PORTLAND, Ore. -- A 15-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries after he was hit by two vehicles Wednesday night in Southwest Portland, according to police.

Timothy Baranow was struck at about 5:45 p.m. on Southwest Taylors Ferry Road, between Macadam Avenue and Boones Ferry Road.

Baranow, who is a student at Wilson High School, is in critical condition at a Portland hospital.

Investigators said Baranow was running across Taylor's Ferry Road to his home when he was hit by a Toyota 4Runner. He was later hit by a Toyota Rav4.

Brian Shea says his babysitter had just left his house. She was driving along Taylors Ferry Road when she spotted a teenager on the shoulder.

"He went to cross the road to the north and the guy coming up the hill hit him and he flipped over and went over in her lane," Shea said.

All of the drivers involved stopped at the scene, police said.

With rain pouring at the time of the crash, Investigators determined road conditions and visibility were likely factors in the crash.
