Hillsboro police reunited a fawn with its mother on Saturday

HILLSBORO, Ore. — A mother deer and her fawn are back together thanks to the help of Hillsboro police.

Police said they received calls Saturday morning about a scared fawn roaming through the community. Sgt. Beaver found the fawn, who was not with its mother, and called Tanasbourne Veterinary Emergency. The veterinary staff determined the fawn was in perfect health.

Police said someone moved the fawn from where its mother was waiting. So, Sgt. Beaver knew where the mother was likely waiting, brought the fawn over to the area and was able to reunite the two.

Hillsboro police says people should call them if they find distressed or lost wildlife.
