Abandoned ram found in Boring; deputies seek owner

The sheriff's office says one of the ram's legs was trapped in a shrub and its horns were tangled in a wire fence.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Clackamas County deputies say they need help finding the owner of a ram that was found surrounded by feces, shivering and unable to move.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports that deputies found the ram on Sunday in Boring while responding to a report of an abandoned animal. The sheriff's office says one of the ram's legs was trapped in a shrub and its horns were tangled in a wire fence.

Deputies freed the animal, but it wasn't able to stand. A veterinarian cared for the ram and agreed to temporarily keep it at Eagle Fern Equine Hospital. It's now in foster care.

Deputies checked the apparently uninhabited property for an owner but weren't able to find anyone.
