McMinnville, Ore. -- This Valentine’s Day was a very special one for a McMinnville
woman who is 95 years young.
Aleen Parr got a special delivery of beautiful roses, chocolates, and a restaurant gift card.
Visiting Angels, an in-home senior care organization, delivers “Blossoms of Love” every year on Valentine’s Day.
Staff said just three years ago, she had a stroke, was bed-ridden and was admitted into hospice.
But on Wednesday, she was full of smiles and looking sharp in her Valentine’s Day outfit.
She said getting surprised on Valentine’s day is unbelievable.
“It's beautiful. I never think I'd never live to see this day,” said Parr.
“It just brings a lot of good feeling to see them happy,” said Lori Decker, who works for Visiting Angels and made the delivery.
Other organizations in the Portland area were involved in similar surprises.
