Oregon reports 3 more COVID-19 deaths

Statewide, the number of total COVID-19 cases is now over 3,000 people.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Three more people have died of COVID-19 in Oregon.

The death toll in Oregon is now 124 people. Friday’s three reported deaths were three fewer than the six reported by state health officials on Thursday.

The Oregon Health Authority released the following information about the people who died:

  • Oregon’s 122nd COVID-19 death is a 51-year-old man in Marion County, who tested positive on May 3 and died May 6 at Salem Hospital. He had underlying medical conditions.
  • Oregon’s 123rd COVID-19 death is an 80-year-old woman in Marion County, who tested positive on April 21 and died May 6 at Santiam Memorial Hospital. She had underlying medical conditions.
  • Oregon’s 124th COVID-19 death is a 71-year-old woman in Multnomah County, who tested positive on April 23 and died May 5 at Providence Portland Medical Center. She had underlying medical conditions.

The state also announced 75 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and five new presumptive cases.

Oregon has a total of 3,068 cases as of Friday morning. That number includes both confirmed cases and presumptive cases.

While presumptive cases have not yet tested positive, they have shown COVID-19 symptoms and had close contact with a confirmed case.

The amount of known active infections in Oregon is unclear.

State data shows 72,657 people have been tested for COVID-19 in Oregon and 69,625 tests (96%) have come back negative.

  • Clackamas: 9
  • Clatsop: 9
  • Deschutes: 1
  • Lane: 2
  • Linn: 1
  • Marion: 13
  • Morrow: 1
  • Multnomah: 30
  • Polk: 2
  • Umatilla: 3
  • Wasco: 1
  • Washington: 8
