County health officials said they plan to submit the application as soon as possible and are optimistic the application will be approved.

"Based on the level of COVID-19 activity in the community and our ability to respond quickly, effectively and appropriately, we’re optimistic we’ll receive a favorable review and approval to move to Phase 2," said Dr. Alan Melnick, the health officer and public health director for Clark County.

There is no timeline for when the county may be approved to move to Phase 2, Clark County officials said.
