Three McMinnville High School soccer players arrested in hazing investigation

Following the August incident, the school district kicked three players off the team and suspended five other players from competition.

MCMINNVILLE, Ore. — Three McMinnville High School soccer players were arrested in connection with two alleged hazing events over the past two years.

The incidents took place in October of 2017 and on Aug. 30, 2018, according to McMinnville police. The August incident reportedly took place on a bus ride back to McMinnville following the boys’ soccer team’s match at West Salem High School. The McMinnville School District said the coaches and all 42 players riding the bus were interviewed by school leaders in the following days after the alleged hazing was reported.

Following the August incident, the district kicked three players off the team and suspended five other players from competition.

On Wednesday, McMinnville police said three boys were issued criminal citations for harassment. Their names were not released since they were all younger than 18 at the time of the alleged crimes.
