Sister of man found dead: "I need to know what happened to my brother"

A man found dead at a Northeast Portland home on Monday was the victim of a shooting, according to the Oregon State Medical Examiner.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Family members of a man found shot to death at a Northeast Portland home are asking for information that could help police in the case.

Officers responded to a home in the 3500 block of Northeast 10th Avenue shortly before 12:30 p.m. on June 12. They found 36-year-old Brian Spaulding dead.

"I need to know what happened to my brother so I can get back to remembering him for the fabulous person he was," said Kate Bostick, Spaulding's younger sister. "He was a great person, a great brother."

Police said there is no suspect information or known reason for why Spaulding would be killed.

"They don't have any leads. They don't know what happened. It could be any number of scenarios," said Bostick.

Spaulding's sister (pictured with her husband) is pleading for any information about her brother's death

The medical examiner ruled Spaulding’s death a homicide, the tenth in Portland this year.

"Somebody was there. Somebody killed him. They know what happened. They owe it to us to tell us what happened," Bostick said.

Crime Stoppers of Oregon is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest in this, or any unsolved homicide case.

"We really need all the help we can get," said Bostick.
