Police identify man killed in SE Portland shooting

The shooting was reported at Southeast 93rd Avenue and Henry Street.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland police are investigating a fatal shooting in Southeast Portland that occurred Wednesday evening.

Police on Thursday identified the man who was killed as 34-year-old Robert Lewis IV.

The state medical examiner's office confirmed Lewis died of a gunshot wound.

The shooting was reported just after 7 p.m. near the corner of Southeast 93rd Avenue and Henry Street.

Responding officers found Lewis deceased in the area, plus signs of gunfire nearby.

Investigators said they are trying to determine what led up to the shooting. 

Police on scene told KGW’s Mike Benner they do not believe this shooting is connected to one Wednesday morning just a few blocks away, near the corner of Southeast 84th Avenue and Ellis Street.
