TILLAMOOK COUNTY, Ore. - A Salem man has been indicted on manslaughter charges in the death of his wife.
Brian David Henry, 41, was indicted by a grand jury Sept. 29 on charges of manslaughter in the second degree. The indictment alleges he helped his wife, 21-year-old Anna Lorraine Proietti, commit suicide on July 16, 2016.
Her remains were found in a shallow grave near Bald Mountain road along the Tillamook/Yamhill county line on Sept. 8. A Yamhill County deputy found a bag of personal items, including a document with Proietti's name, at a nearby campsite.
Proietti was identified by her dental records.
Investigators served a search warrant at the couple's home on Sept. 21 and seized a vehicle belonging to the couple. Henry was also arrested at that time on a probation violation for a prior conviction of delivery of methamphetamine.
Court documents show Henry was charged with assaulting and strangling Proietti on August 31, 2015. The charges were later dropped after Proietti wrote a letter to the court saying Henry restrained her in an attempt to prevent her from hurting herself.
Henry is being held in the Tillamook County Jail on $50,000 bail.
The Tillamook County Sheriff's office said Henry could face additional charges.
