BRUSH PRAIRIE, Wash. – A sports trainer contracted with Hockinson High School was arrested for alleged sexual misconduct involving a student from the school.
Jason Meharry, 26, works at Proactive Physical Therapy but is contracted at the school, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Meharry was booked into the Clark County Jail on three counts of sexual misconduct of a minor. He appeared in court Friday morning.
His bail was set at $10,000, and he is to have no contact with the victim, the judge said.
The Hockinson School District sent a letter to parents, about Meharry.
It reads:
"Dear Hockinson High School families, administrators at HHS received information about the possibility of inappropriate conduct between a contract staff member at Hockinson High School and a student last Friday afternoon and immediately placed the staff member on administrative leave and notified their employer. The high school administration called The Clark County Sheriff’s Office immediately on Friday afternoon and they started investigating the allegations with the full cooperation of Hockinson staff.
Due to the on-going investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Hockinson School District cannot provide any information other than that the student is enrolled as a high school student in our district.
Our focus now is to support our students, staff and members of the HSD community who have been affected in any way by this situation. I ask that everyone please refrain from speculation. If students have concerns about this situation, our counselors are available.
