ALOHA, Ore. — Authorities have released a sketch of a suspect in an attempted child abduction that happened in Aloha last month.

On June 16, deputies responded to attempted child abduction in the 15600 block of Southwest Blanton Street in Aloha.

Family members told authorities that they were enjoying a barbecue when they realized they had not seen their 3-year-old for about 5 minutes, they went looking for him.

An aunt spotted a white man in his 30s pulling on the boy's arm. She yelled at the suspect, who let go of the child and fled west on Southwest Blanton Street. The child was safe.

The boy's father chased after the suspect but lost him.

Deputies searched the area but were unable to find him.

Some witnesses told police there was a second suspect, a black man, in the area at the same time, who ran off when the family yelled at the first suspect. Police found a man who matched the description of the second suspect in the area and arrested him on an unrelated warrant. Police said they haven't determined if he was related to the attempted abduction.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact detectives at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 503-846-2700.
