Construction worker fatally shoots another worker at Milwaukie strip club, deputies say

MILWAUKIE, Ore. — Authorities believe a construction worker shot and killed a fellow worker during a remodel at a Milwaukie strip club Friday afternoon.

On Monday, The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as 24-year-old Nathaniel Mateo Acosta of Yelm, Washington.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting at the Gold Club, located at 17180 SE McLoughlin Blvd., around 2:45 p.m. Friday. Acosta died at the scene.

The club was not open to the public at the time.

The suspect was taken into custody. He was identified as 25-year-old Ryan Ted Newman Jr., of Portland. He was booked into the Clackamas County Jail on a charge of murder. He will be held without bail.

It’s unclear what led to the shooting.
