Beaverton armed robbery, carjacking suspects on the loose

The crimes, which happened over a short period of time and within a mile of each other, are believed to be related, police said.

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Police are searching for two suspects in an armed robbery and carjacking Sunday in Beaverton that sent an elderly woman to the hospital.

At about 5:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery in the parking lot of Consignment Northwest, located in the 10100 block of Southwest Allen Boulevard in Beaverton.

The victim reported that she was approached by two male suspects in the parking lot of the business and the suspects demanded money while displaying a weapon. The suspects fled on foot.

Shortly after the initial robbery, a carjacking was reported in the 10400 block of Southwest Denny Road.

Family members of the carjacking victim told KGW she was a 79-year-old woman. She had just dropped her two grandchildren off at a home in the area when the carjackers approached her, they said.

The victim was hurt when she was pulled out of the car, and she was taken to the hospital, family said. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The two suspects in the crimes remain at large. The stolen vehicle, described by police as a 2007 green Mitsubishi Lancer with Oregon license plate 800EMJ, was found in Portland.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic man under 30 years of age, wearing a black rain jacket, black jeans and black cap.

The second suspect is described as a black man under 30 years of age, thin build, wearing dark glasses, a gray hoodie and dark sweat pants.
