PORTLAND, Ore. — A 19-year-old man charged with the Portland murders of two men in late May of this year entered a not guilty plea in court Tuesday.
Michael Ramirez is accused of fatally shooting 44-year-old Sergey Peshkov and 18-year-old Lorenzo Gordon.
Peshkov was found dead in the front yard of a home in the 10300 block of Southeast Reedway Street in the Lents neighborhood on May 24. The next day, Gordon was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Springtree Apartments at 650 Southeast 162nd Avenue.
Ramirez was arrested May 26. A grand jury indictment was filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court on Monday, charging Ramirez with two counts of murder and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.
After Tuesday's court hearing, Ramirez's father told KGW, "He's innocent. No comment."
Ramirez is scheduled to appear in court again in July.
