PORTLAND, Oregon — It's Mother's Day weekend! And, as with every other holiday we've celebrated so far during this pandemic, the festivities will have to be a bit different this year.
But don't worry, whether you're quarantined with your mom, or she's across the country, there are still plenty of activities you can do with and for her to show your love.
So here are 8 things to do for and with Mom this Mother's Day weekend:
Drive through wine country
Maybe what Mom wants this year is a trip to wine country. And you can actually do that! The trip will look a little different than usual, but you can visit three wineries at once on one short drive to Lake Oswego. Adelsheim, Hazelfern, and Alexana are teaming up for a special Mother's Day Wine Country Drive-Thru. All you do is drive up to Ironlight Lake Oswego, and pick up some wine and other local provisions, contact-less. A portion of the proceeds will go to With Love, a nonprofit supporting foster families in Oregon.
When: Saturday, May 9, 12-5 p.m.
Where: Ironlight Lake Oswego, 525 3rd St, Lake Oswego
Take Mom to brunch
Four Washington County food trucks are teaming up to serve brunch in Tigard. You can order online, and the pick up is all drive through, so social distancing will be maintained. And while the event takes place, Save Washington County Eats will be hosting some virtual games on its Facebook page.
When: Sunday, May 10, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: Uncle Dan's Tire World & Auto Centers, 9800 SW Washington Square Rd, Tigard
Take Mom plant shopping
Because you might be sick of looking at the same decorations at your home office all day, every day. Learning Gardens Lab PSU is hosting a plant sale, and social distancing will be observed, by only allowing one person to shop at a time. The first half hour is reserved for any high-risk shoppers.
When: Saturday, May 9, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: Learning Gardens Lab PSU, 6801 SE 60th Ave, Portland
"Go" to a concert with Mom
The Alberta Rose Theatre is live streaming concerts featuring local musicians five nights a week, April 23 through May 17. Tune in Wednesdays through Sundays at 7 p.m. to see a variety of performers on the Portland Music Stream. Pay $20 to stream one show, or $100 for all twenty concerts.
On Saturday night, Tracy Grammer will perform, and on Sunday night, Joe Kye takes the home stage.
When: Wednesday through Sunday nights at at 7 p.m.

Have dinner and a show with Mom, virtually
Dinner and a movie looks a little different these days, but on Saturday night, you can support Oregon restaurants while you dine at home! It's a benefit, sponsored by The Oregonian, for restaurants that are serving meals to front line heroes and those experiencing food insecurity. You just buy a virtual ticket, and order your own takeout or delivery meal, then watch the movie Phoenix, Oregon, followed by a Q&A with the cast and crew.
The proceeds go to the Oregon Hospitality Foundation, in support of Oregon restaurants.
When: Saturday, May 9, at 7 p.m.

Take Mom "to" Tony Starlight show
Tony Starlight is live streaming a special Mother's Day concert, featuring songs that moms love. He'll sing Elvis, Neil Diamond, Dean Martin, and more. Tony will even give your mom a special shout out on the live stream, if you email him your mother's name and your message to email@example.com ahead of time.
When: Sunday, May 10, 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Take Mom to a drive-up movie
When is the last time you went to the drive-in? The Sunshine Mill, an event space located inside a 100-year-old flour mill in The Dalles, launched a series of drive-up movies. The first event on April 3 sold out, so the mill is continuing the weekend screenings. Sunshine Mill will screen a movie for adults every Friday, and kid friendly films on Saturday. The venue has also partnered with Freebridge Brewing to deliver pizzas to your car upon request.
When: Friday and Saturday nights, 7 p.m.
Where: The Sunshine Mill, 901 E 2nd St, The Dalles
And last but not least, if your mom just wants some alone time…
Aren't we all these days? Let your mom escape to wine country and have some time by herself, while still practicing social distancing. The Vintages, a trailer resort in Oregon's wine country, is open for safe 'glamping' experiences. For Mother's Day, the resort is offering moms 20-percent off, and they'll throw in a free bottle of The Vintages signature pinot noir. Each trailer comes with lush robes and slippers, and some even have a soaking tub. The resort is still open during the pandemic, offering remote check ins and space between guests.
