PORTLAND, Ore — Once again, Portland-area health care workers are bringing home the most bacon.
The latest data available from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, for the 12-month period ending in May 2018, indicates that of the 25 top-paying professions, those providing health insights, skills and, of course, care occupy 14 of the top spots.

The Business Journal analyzed the data and determined the region's 25 most-lucrative jobs, in terms of mean, or average, salary. The figures cover the Portland metropolitan statistical area, which includes Hillsboro and Vancouver, Wash.
The numbers indicate that psychiatrists earn the highest hourly salaries, among vocations for which data is available, at more than $128 an hour.
Among the 695 full- and part-time jobs analyzed by BLS, the average Portland-area worker makes $27 an hour, or $56,160. Both figures are up 1.5 percent over 2017's figures.
BLS's statistics include information from some 1.2 million area residents.
