LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. — Lake Oswego tried something a little different to celebrate Independence Day this year. Instead of a fireworks show, the city decided to host a professional laser show.
Last year, the City of Lake Oswego put on a public fireworks display, which required an "intense emergency operations plan."
This year, that wasn’t necessary. The laser show at Millennium Plaza Park was called a Fourth of July Illumination Celebration. Nu-Salt Laser International put on the show using a fog machine, screen and even trees as backdrops.
The annual fireworks display put on by the Lake Corporation still went on as planned and wasn’t impacted by the city’s decision to try something new.
