PORTLAND, Ore. — We took a ride with Columbia Sportswear Chairman Gert Boyle, an imitable 94-year-old leader in the Portland community and beyond.
Though this KGW Carpool edition was static (no, we never left the parking lot), it was an unforgettable ride.
Boyle took over the family business back in 1970 after her husband died, and helped transform the company from just a hat business to the Columbia Sportswear we all know (and wear) today.
