PORTLAND, Ore. — Each week, KGW provides a list of four events you may want to attend in the Portland area over the weekend, and a list of four restaurants you may want to try. Here are our picks for this weekend.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in typical Portland fashion by participating in the Shamrock Run! Billed as the largest running and walking event in Oregon, organizers expect 25,000 participants in the 41st edition of the event, which includes a half marathon, 15K, 8K, 5K, 1K and a 4-mile walk. The cost to participate ranges from $25 to $105. The race raises funds for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Spectators are also welcomed to come out and enjoy the festivities.

Cirque du Soleil Corteo
The latest Cirque du Soleil show is in Portland this weekend for a limited run of six performances. Corteo, which means cortege in Italian, “is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown.” The cast includes 51 acrobats, musicians, singers and actors from around the world. Remaining ticket prices depend on the show you go to but generally begin at around $70 plus fees.

Portland Roadster Show
The Portland Expo Center will be filled with hot rods this weekend for the 63rd annual Portland Roadster Show. Hundreds of cars will be on display. Admission is $16.

Seattle Thunderbirds vs. Portland Winterhawks
Have you made it out to a hockey game this season? Sunday is the Winterhawks’ last regular season game before they head to the playoffs. Portland takes on rival Seattle at Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Sunday night. Ticket prices begin at $21.50 plus fees.

Kells Irish Restaurant and Pub
Kells Irish Restaurant and Pub is a longstanding pub and restaurant located at 112 SW 2nd Ave. The pub offers Irish food, beer, a cigar lounge and live music. Kells also brews their own Irish beers in their own brewpub.
Paddy's is the oldest Irish pub in downtown Portland, located at 65 SW Yamhill St. The pub has been serving up traditional Irish fare in Portland since 1979. Paddy's offers Irish mainstays such as lamb stew, bangers and mash, curry chips, and fish and chips. The bar features over 600 spirits to please anyone's liquor taste.
Cabezon is a cozy neighborhood bistro that opened in 2009. Their menu offers locally sourced seafood and fresh ingredients around the Pacific Northwest. The seasonal menu features innovative offerings like the wild striped bass and mesquite grilled Hawaiian mahi-mahi. Cabezon is located on 5200 NE Sacramento St.
Brooklyn Trattoria is an upscale neighborhood Italian restaurant located in the Bethany Village at 4708 NW Bethany Blvd. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients in their dishes. Brooklyn Trattoria features a semi-open kitchen so guests can see how their food is prepared, adding to an intimate experience.
