One in five Oregon kids struggle with hunger and Safeway is partnering with Oregon Food Bank and inviting customers to help! From May 30 through June 26, 2018 at local Safeway stores, customers can purchase Hunger Bags to help kids facing hunger over the summer.
The pre-filled bags are available for purchase at the register for $5 and $10 each.
Safeway and Oregon Food Bank are also holding four special collection events where customers can stuff a giant Safeway semi-truck by filling it with shelf-stable food items. Safeway vendors will also be on hand to give out fun prizes along with cake and more! Here are the event details:
- Friday, June 1: Cedar Mill Safeway, 13485 NW Cornell Rd, Portland
- Friday, June 8: Oregon City Safeway, 13434 Colton Pl, Oregon City
- Wednesday, June 13: King City Tigard, 15570 SW Pacific Hwy, Tigard
- Friday, June 22: West Linn, 22000 Salamo Rd, West Linn
All four events run from 11am to 7pm. Safeway and the Oregon Food Bank are proud to be partnering up once again in the fight against hunger and invite you to join.
