Calling all pop culture and tall ship aficionados: Two Hollywood-famous vessels, Lady Washington and her companion vessel Hawaiian Chieftain, will dock in Newport in April and, again in July.

Lady Washington, the official tall ship of Washington, has been featured in movies including "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" and "Star Trek: Generations," as well as television shows including ABC's "Once Upon A Time."

Because Lady Washington is a full-scale replica of a historical vessel, she gets more screen time than her companion ship.

These two stops will be the only time the two vessels will make an appearance on the upper half of the Oregon coast in 2018.

Zachary Stocks, the program development officer at Grays Harbor Historical Seaport, said that the experience between the two ships is very similar because they are close in shape and size.

"It is one of these rare opportunities to get your hands on historical parts of the past," he said.

"You can look, but you can't touch" does not apply here. There are a few ways to experience these famous vessels.

Passengers can take self-guided tours where they can see the dock, evening and adventure sails up close.

Battle Sails are three-hour excursions that feature gunpowder and real canons to recreate an authentic 18th-century naval battle.

Adventure Sails allow passengers to help the crew raise sails, sling a sea shanty and take the helm of the ship on this two-hour, family-oriented trip.
