Celebrate the Portland comics scene with the release of Postscript

This third and final comics anthology will redefine your understanding of student-made comics.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Postscript is the third and final anthology of comics from students at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, and you're not going to want to miss it.

In Jonathan Hill's class, students create comics that are then compiled and lovingly edited by Hill and are finally published in an anthology. This year's work, titled Postscript, is the final anthology produced by a class of Hill's and it isn't just comics from his students but a number of contributing artists including some of his former students who now work and create comics for a living.

It is 550 pages of amazing, beautiful and touching comics. I had a hard time putting it down. You're going to want to get your hands on a copy and, lucky for you, there will be two release events so you can be one of the first people to get a copy.

On Thursday, Feb. 6, at Floating World Comics, located at 400 NW Couch St. in Portland, there will be a release party and art gallery. There will be books available for purchase as well. I'll be there and I hope to see you!

And if you can't make an event during the week, there is a signing and reading at Powell's Books on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

When I was told about the previous anthologies I was not prepared for just how great the comics inside were going to be. These really are some incredible up and coming comic book creators. Who knows, you might find your new favorite writer/illustrator in Postscript.
