More Hamilton tickets released; some not happy about price change

One woman says she bought tickets for $500 each during the initial sale. She says tickets in that same row were $345 during this week's sale.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- For those who missed a chance to get tickets to the Broadway musical Hamilton when they first went on sale they had another chance this week. That second chance didn’t make everyone happy.

Kala Schraner-Hayes bought tickets when they first went on sale from Broadway in Portland. She spent two hours on the ticket website then found out she could buy tickets for $500 each. When she heard about this week’s sale and checked prices she found tickets on the same row were on sale for $345.

“Broadway in Portland really disappointed me. I should feel I can watch theater and not have to go to another city in order to get a decent price," Schraner-Hayes said.

Broadway in Portland responded to questions by email and said it’s common practice to release additional tickets closer to performance dates and demand drives the prices.

The email also said they’ve maintained a continuous message since November telling patrons to check back for the late release of seats. If you want to check for seats you can visit this website.
