PORTLAND, Ore. — All of the ships have arrived for Fleet Week for the Portland Rose Festival.

Ships from the United States Navy, United States Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy have docked at Tom McCall Waterfront Park.

The ships will be in town at least through Sunday. A few ships will depart at around 11 a.m. Sunday, June 9. The rest are scheduled to leave between 7:30 a.m. and and 10 a.m. on Monday, June 10.

As always, traffic by bridge lifts for the Broadway, Steel and Burnside bridges as the ships made their down the Willamette River to the waterfront. Bridge lifts will occur again Sunday and Monday when the ships depart.

Since the first Rose Festival in 1907, visiting ships (and even submarines) have been coming to Portland. It’s always been a chance for the public to recognize and thank active military personnel and veterans, especially those who come to the Rose City by sea.

There are opportunities to tour ships and meet the sailors who brought them here. Tours are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. More details can be found at the Portland Rose Festival’s Fleet Week website.
