Robert Pattinson's Batman suit revealed

Thanks to director Matt Reeves, we got our first official look at the new Batman costume.

Matt Reeves, director of the upcoming Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson, quietly tweeted a camera test from the set which revealed the first official look at Pattinson's new suit.

It looks like the bat emblem across Pattinson's chest might be some sort of functional set of knives? Batarangs?

And Reeves even generously gave us a pan up to see Pattinson in the cowl with his aggressively sharp jaw. It's all very Bruce Wayne.

We won't get The Batman until 2021 but there is a lot of hype around it. We haven't seen a Batman solo film (read: a good Batman) since Christian Bale donned the cowl.

The DC Universe has come under criticism following Batman vs. Superman and Justice League but seems to be on a bounce-back with Wonder Woman, Shazam, Aquaman, and now Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey!

Will this new Batman film seal the deal?

The cast seems incredibly promising with Zoë Kravitz cast as Selina Kyle (Catwoman), Andy Serkis playing Alfred, Colin Farrell as the Penguin and a few more recognizable faces.

It has been promised that this will be a gritty story about Bruce Wayne and well, we've seen gritty go really well (see: The Dark Knight) and poorly (see: Batfleck), so we will have to wait patiently to see in what direction Reeves and Pattinson take our beloved Bruce Wayne.
