#PDXPopupCon canceled amid COVID-19 concerns in Oregon

#PDXPopupCon was moving in to fill the whole after ECCC rescheduled, but it has been canceled.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Editor's note: The video above is from Wizard World 2020.

Update: The #PDXPopupCon was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns on March 12.

PDXPopupCon was going to be city-wide comics convention with over 130 shifts available for creators to share and sell their work in the wake of Emerald City Comic Con’s rescheduling. ECCC announced on Friday, March 6 that it would be rescheduling for some time during the Summer of 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns.

However, on March 12, #PDXPopupCon announced it would be canceled.

The CDC is recommending people practice social distancing, frequent handwashing for at least 20 seconds in warm water with soap, sanitizing high touch surfaces and using hand sanitizer to help flatten the curve during this pandemic.

Gov. Kate Brown has banned all gatherings of 250 people or more for the next four weeks.
