Sara Roth is the Digital Investigative Reporter for KGW in Portland, Oregon. In her role, she creates longform and multimedia projects for KGW.com, and takes in-depth looks at issues that impact people in Oregon and SW Washington.
Sara is active in the local journalism community in Portland and serves as the Vice President of the Society of Professional Journalists-Oregon Territory chapter.
Sara joined the KGW digital team in 2013. She was previously a staff writer at The Source Weekly in Bend and a writer, editor and marketing director at Resource Magazine in New York City. Sara received her bachelor's degree in creative writing and English from Bucknell University and master's degree in multimedia journalism from the University of Oregon.
In 2016, Sara received two awards for her reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists Region 10. Her work has contributed to KGW's two regional Murrow awards for best television news website and an OAB award for the station's reporting on homelessness in Portland.
