PORTLAND, Ore. — Destiny Johnson is a digital reporter at KGW. She moved all the way from Jacksonville, Fla., with her dog Watson in December 2018 to join the KGW News team in Portland.

Her passions include: true crime, comics, pop-punk music, photography, videography, as well as writing human interest stories about LGBTQ issues and women’s rights. She also enjoys crocheting, like someone many years her senior, and hunting for the best pho Portland has to offer.

She is a regional Murrow Award winning journalist from her time in Jacksonville and has been working in news since she graduated from the University of Florida (go Gators!) in 2015.

Destiny is originally from a small town in Florida, and living in Portland is her first out-of-Florida residence so she is bundling up, but loving it.

She has a predilection for pulling stories out of documents and feels most fulfilled when she is investigating and digging into a story. If you want to talk about comic books, nerd stuff, or anything in between you can find her on Twitter.

She also has a YouTube channel where she reviews comics weekly. She’d love your suggestion on what to read next!
