PORTLAND, Ore. — Thanks for taking the time to find out more about me, and the work I do at KGW.  It has evolved a lot in the decade I’ve been here.

I started with KGW in 2012 as a shared traffic reporter with KXL radio, covering morning and afternoon commutes. The role at KGW has expanded to transportation and environmental reporting, in addition to anchoring the weekend morning weather- getting back to my roots as a meteorologist.

I’m a Penn State University alumni. I majored in meteorology, and track & field.  Joking aside, wearing a Penn State uniform as a track and cross-country athlete was an honor I’ll always cherish. “We Are!!!”

Two decades later, I still lace up my racing shoes occasionally. I’ve run the Hood to Coast Relay a dozen times- thankfully never leg 1.  I’ve also completed 9 marathons-  a 10th has been eluding me.  Two young children and an ever-changing schedule will do that, but I’m hopeful to finish another Portland Marathon again soon- maybe 2023 will be the year.

I started my TV career in 2001. I chased tornadoes, blizzards, and floods throughout the Midwest.  After a decade in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin, I returned to Oregon.  I love calling Portland home.  Craft beer, doug firs, and awe-inspiring mountain views will keep me here forever. Who else loves that Central Oregon smell of juniper?

You’ll see me producing stories about weather and the environment as part of KGW’s Good Energy Series. As a transportation reporter, I cover issues on our roads as well.  Some are serious, some, not so serous.  We started the “Driving Me Crazy” series as a way for all of us to commiserate. From potholes to tailgaters, we’ve all got something that drives us nuts on the roads.  Which reminds me, if you got a suggestion, reach out to me on social media, or email.

Thanks for watching! See you on the roads, and the trails.
