Ashley Korslien anchors KGW News at Sunrise every weekday, and still isn't used to that alarm clock after years of working the morning shift!
The most common question she gets asked: "What time do you wake up?" Answer: "2 a.m. Yuck!"
Ashley grew up in Montana, or what people refer to as "God's Country." She's proud of her country roots, but doesn't miss the long, bitterly cold winters.
Like any true Montana girl, Ashley likes target shooting, being outdoors and, of course, GRIZ football! Her first TV job was in her hometown of Great Falls as the weekend anchor and military reporter.
Before moving to Portland, Ashley was an anchor and investigative reporter for KGW's sister station in Spokane.
While working in Montana, Ashley founded a non-profit that helps military veterans and their families in times of need. In 2011, the Montana National Guard awarded Ashley the highest honor a civilian can receive. Ashley was presented the Distinguished Patriot Medal for her dedication to Montana's military families.
In Spokane, Ashley volunteered her time with Big Brothers Big Sisters and served as emcee for various charity events. She was also very active with the Lilac City Chapter of Pearl Harbor Survivors and now considers them her second family.
Ashley and her husband Chris have three dogs and live in Vancouver. They love exploring "that" side of the Columbia :) Ashley loves photography, scary movies and usually finds herself falling asleep by 8 p.m. on Friday nights. #morningshowproblems
