Rachael Rafanelli joined KGW-TV January 2015.

As a Northwest native, Rachael grew up watching KGW-TV. It was the station that inspired her to become a reporter.

Rachael grew up in Clark County, on a farm, and showed beef cattle at the fair for 8 years. She attended Columbia River High School, in Vancouver, Washington and became involved in the video production program, which landed her a scholarship to pay for college.

Rachael is a Washington State University alum, GO COUGS!

She started her broadcast career reporting and anchoring in Twin Falls, ID, for KMVT-TV (CBS).

After two years, Rachael made the transition to WINK-TV (CBS) in beautiful southwest Florida. For three-and-a-half years, she covered everything from giant alligators, to boat explosions, plane crashes, wild tropical storms, and endangered manatee releases.

But home is where the heart is.

Rachael is thrilled to return home to the Pacific Northwest and join the KGW News team.

She loves to run with her Doberman, Athena, and loves horseback riding, painting, and drawing. She is a self-proclaimed nerd, and loves sci-fi action and superhero movies.

Her husband John is a teacher. They both love hiking, camping, and exploring the beautiful Northwest.

Rachael admits she's also a bit of a coffee addict. You can find her reporting, bright and early, for KGW's Sunrise morning show, from 4:30 a.m. until 7 a.m., and on KGW News at Noon.
