Oregon superintendent arrested in prostitution sting

Springfield police say Marcola School Superintendent Rolla Weber was one of 13 men arrested last weekend in a prostitution sting.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Springfield police say Marcola School Superintendent Rolla Weber was one of 13 men arrested last weekend in a prostitution sting.

Springfield police Sgt. Rich Charboneau says the men approached female police officers posing as prostitutes and offered them money for sex. The 13 suspects won't be arraigned until mid-August.

Melody Hanson, director of professional standards for the state agency that licenses teachers, says the 62-year-old Weber contacted the agency on Monday and reported the incident.

Hasnon says a conviction for soliciting prostitution is among the crimes that can result in permanent license revocation.

Weber is also the principal of Marcola Elementary School.
