Girls Basketball: Roosevelt 48, Franklin 34: The Roughriders (5-10, 3-2 PIL) took advantage of their 27 free throws — to the visiting Quakers’ (0-15, 0-5) eight — to create unreachable lead.
Freshman Ashly Brady scored a team-high 13 and sophomore Alexia Julian contributed 10 for Roosevelt, which travels to Northeast Portland to play the Senators of Madison on Friday night.
Lisa Chiem scored 15 points in the first three quarters of the game for Franklin, but the Roughriders held her to only two points in the final quarter. The Quakers host the Cleveland Warriors on Friday.
