Irving Sidney Fink was born on 12/12/12. He is celebrating his 100th Birthday. He was born to Jewish Immigrants from Russia in Brooklyn New York.
He was once a Newspaper Reporter in Plattsburgh NY and travelled to Albert Einsteins summer home in Saranac to see if he could get an interview. Einstein told him he did not do interviews and ask his wife to make him a sandwich to take back with him.
Sid moved to the West Coast in the early 50's to San Diego, San Francisco and ultimately Portland Oregon. He lived in Portland Oregon (St Johns) for over 50 years until 97 and moved across the Columbia River to Washington State to be closer to his daughter. He lives at Vancouver Mall Retirement Center in his own apartment.
He still gave lectures into his 90's at the Multnomah County Library in downtown Portland on politics. He is a naturalist. My father is still a brilliant man who is very passionate about his beliefs. He is still a voracious reader, enjoys poker a couple times a week with one of his partners being 105. He travels to a casino once a month to play the slots.
