We are renting a beach house about 1/4 mile south of Beverly Beach State Park, just south of Newport, OR. I was outside taking pictures of the sunset, and at 5:03pm there was a beautiful orangish pink hue to the sky. I snapped one photo and noticed that to the left of where the sun went down, there was a speck on the horizon. I thought it may have been a plane, until I snapped a picture zoomed in. I used my camera to zoom in on it at its max ability of 42x Optical zoom, and am quite confused as to what I captured. I was hoping that your meteorologist might be able to help determine what it is. It kind of looks like it might be something entering the atmosphere, however, I cannot tell and was thining that if it were a meteorite or something of the sort, that maybe someone would be able to confirm it for me or maybe somebody else managed to capture the same thing? I've attached two photo's, one is what it looked like at the zoomed in picture, and then I blew it up even more to try and get an even closer look. Please help!
