I heard the thunder from my house in Hillsboro, OR and quickly threw all my camera gear into my car and headed over to a lookout point on German Town Rd. just before you get to hwy 30. I set up my tripod and camera as quickly as I could and on the first click of the shutter I captured the amazing lightning strike to the ground. I hung out there for 2 more hours or so and captured some cloud lightning, but that first shot is by far the most amazing photo of lightning I have ever captured.
