Growing up around the Astoria area allowed me to discover all the nooks and crannies. However, after becoming an adult and getting into photography, I have been afforded more appreciation for history and learning the area where I spent so much time as a child.
This is a photo from Shivley Park where this arch stands. It was from the original Weinhard Astoria Hotel. Sadly the hotel burned down along with much of Astoria during the great fire of 1922.
This is a memory of Astoria before the one I have known but will never be forgotten.
