A woman driving an SUV was involved in an accident with a patrol car this morning at about 4:45 AM at the lighted intersection on 148th and Mill St. I heard the crash. Went outside to check on what happened and saw the driver, a woman, and the officer who had been driving the patrol car talking outside of their vehicles. She did not appear to be under the influence. I didn't know there was a passenger until I saw them go around to the side of her vehicle and then heard him (the passenger) who was obviously injured. He was taken by ambulance to Adventists hospital (could hear that on from the police radio). I do not know who it who but the first words I heard were from the officer. His response to her pointed to her running a red light...but again I did not witness who ran the light.
Several cop cars were on the scene and the street was completely blocked off from traffic getting through. Only the passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries.
