As an international travel and commercial photographer, I have been privy to many amazing locations all over the world. For me however, St. Helens will always hold a special place in my heart.
There are few experiences in life that are as humbling as the one you experience when you are standing on a sun bathed ridge, looking into the massive crater that used to be solid mass, watching the sun draw near the horizon as the snow capped crown lights up in a fiery blaze of orange and yellow hues. In this moment, you can't help but contrast the beauty of the day with the destruction from the past. A revelation of sorts; one that not only inspires but one that very quickly helps you realize how little control we have over Mother Nature and her unbridled power.
A truly humbling experience. An experience that no human on this earth should miss participating in. Truly amazing.
