PORTLAND -- Get your fresh Baklava, spanakopita and other Mediterranean delicacies as Oregon’s Greek community celebrates its culture at this year’s 57th annual Portland Greek Festival.
Organizers welcome everyone and highlight the many foods, dances and demonstrations and a market place taking place at this year’s festival.
Some proceeds from the festival will be donated to community organizations, including Kids ‘n Cancer Camp in the Northwest, The Urban League, Blankets for the Needy and other neighborhood groups, organizers say.
Last year the festival attracted as many as 15,000 people.
The festival starts Friday, Oct. 3 and lasts through Sunday, Oct. 5. Events and festivities will be held on the grounds of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 3131 NE Glisan St..
