Annual Fall Harvest celebration underway at Fir Point Farms
10:49 AM PDT on Friday, October 3, 2008
Every weekend in October represents a fun, family-friendly time waiting to happen at Fir Point Farms in Aurora.
The Farm hosts their annual Harvest Festival celebration now through the end of the month.
The highlight of the Festival each year happens this Saturday, October 4th, with the return of the Canby GIANT Pumpkin Weigh-Off.
Giant Vegetable Growers from all over the Pacific Northwest gather at the Farm to compete for thousands of dollars in prize money and the bragging rights for growing the biggest (and best!!) pumpkin. Last year’s Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off winner tipped the scales at just over 1400 pounds!!!
Throughout October, Festival-goers can pick their own pumpkins in Fir Point Farm’s 15-acre Pumpkin Patch, with plenty of corn stalks & hay bales to choose from, as well, for Autumn decorating.
Kids (and kids at heart) will enjoy a day at the Farm thanks to a line-up of Festival features that include a Pitch-Black Hay Maze, a Giant Hay Slide, a Corn Cannon, and Hazel’s Nut House.
Fall Harvest Festival hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm every Saturday & Sunday in October.
Fir Point Farms is located at 14601 Arndt Road in Aurora, roughly 20 minutes South of Downtown Portland.
