Snakes! and Lizards! and Dragons!... Oh My!!
10:05 AM PDT on Thursday, August 28, 2008
Crawl, creep, and slither your way to one of the largest gatherings of reptiles and amphibians in the Pacific Northwest when the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) hosts its annual Reptile and Amphibian Show this Labor Day weekend.
Nearly 100 exotic animals will be on display at this popular event, including a large variety of captive-bred snakes, alligators, lizards, turtles, and more.
The show will feature a special area where several dozen non-venomous reptiles and amphibians will be available for supervised handling. Experts will be available throughout the weekend to answer questions about these often misunderstood creatures.
The Reptile and Amphibian Show will take place Saturday, August 30th through Monday, September 1st from 9:30am to 7:00pm. Entrance to the show is included with paid OMSI admission.
Founded in 1944, OMSI is one of the nation's leading science museums. It’s located at 1945 SE Water Avenue in Southeast Portland. For general information, call 503-797-4000 or visit OMSI’s official website.
