10:47 AM PDT on Friday, August 15, 2008

By DREW CARNEY, kgw.com Staff

The homes along Portland's 33rd Annual Street of Dreams open their doors to the public this weekend, ready to provide the inspiration for your own home purchase or home remodeling project.

Watch Drew Carney preview this year's Portland Street of Dreams during the 08/15/08 edition of Newschannel 8 at Sunrise.

This year’s Street experience begins on Saturday, August 16th and runs through Sunday, September 14th. The show is open every day during that stretch from 11:00am to 10:00pm. (Box office closes at 8:30pm)

The 2008 Street of Dreams is located off I-205 and Johnson Creek Boulevard in the Altamont subdivision on Mt. Scott. The site sits on the highest point in Portland and marks the Street of Dream's 1st location within the actual city limits in 8 years.

Founded in 1976, the metro Portland Street of Dreams was the first of its kind in the country, and has since been adopted by nearly 500 other cities across the U.S. More than 80,000 visitors from around the country tour the Portland show each year.

Tickets to the 2008 Street of Dreams cost $17.50 for adults, which includes parking. Tickets for children ages 6-12 cost $5, and kids under 6 get in for free.
