Street fair celebrates new downtown light rail

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Streets of downtown Portland will be festive this weekend.

The city is celebrating new light rail additions with a street fair along the routs on Saturday.

Portland Parks will be hosting craft activities and a climbing wall, ace painters and balloon souvenirs for kids. They’ll also get to shoot hoops action with the Portland Trail Blazers

DJs will provide music and dancing on 5th and 6th Avenues -- and Pioneer Place retailers will be holding sales.

Revelers will also enjoy outdoor dining and beer gardens at Porto Terra Tuscan Grill and Bar and the Red Star Roast House.

In Pioneer Courthouse Square the sand castle exhibits at Kids on the Block's fundraising event, "Sand in the City" will also host entertainment throughout the day.

It’s all happening between SW Washington and Taylor streets from 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
