Clouds now cover northwest Oregon and it's snowing on the Washington coast. The snow will spread south into Oregon after midnight.
A Winter Weather Advisory is up for the Coast, Coast Range and Cascade foothills, with a Winter Storm Warning on the central coast around Newport.
it's from there southeast to Eugene and south to Ashland where the heavy snow will fall. Here's a snowfall breakdown:
Portland area: flurries, some light snow, no accumulation.
Salem area: Trace to an inch of snow.
South of Salem: 1-2"
South of Corvallis: 1-4"
It all begins after midnight and ends Friday afternoon.
And then, Arctic reinforcements roll in, with the coldest air yet arriving for Saturday. It'll be clear, with strong NE winds creating dangerous wind-chills.
Cold clear weather continues through the weekend. As warmer air and rain move in Tuesday, it may begin as snow or ice in Portland, and certainly in the Gorge.
