Rains showers return late today

Another freezing start for the Portland metro area with a mix of fog and clear skies.  East winds are still blowing near the gorge, but will veer to the west later today.  Look for increasing cloud cover during the day.  Rain showers will arrive either late this afternoon or early evening.  Snow levels near 4,000' to start will lower to 2,000' tonight and may dip to 1,500' during the day Tuesday.  Portland and Salem will see all rain with totals nearing .50" through Tuesday night.

Mountain travel will see 4-8" of snow over the Cascades tonight through Tuesday.  The high Coast Range passes may see accumulations.

A dry and sunny, gusty east wind pattern quickly returns Wednesday morning.  Dry weather with gusty winds Thanksgiving Day through Saturday and maybe Sunday.
