Lots of lighting this afternoon east of the Cascades.  Hot temperatures near 100 degrees in spots and a continuing storm chance into this weekend will keep fire danger critically high.

Here in the metro valley, PDX warmed to 90 today and McMinnville hit 95 degrees.  Very little change the next few days, meaning mostly sunny warm days with highs near 90 and light winds.  One forecast models shows a slight chance of valley thunderstorms this coming Saturday night through Monday, but other charts leave our area hot and dry through mid- August.
