Tuesday Forecast

Updated today at 12:36 PM

Here is the latest from the First Alert Storm Center:

After a very foggy morning, we're still seeing many places socked in.  Most of the valley is trapped beneath low clouds, and more than likely will stay that way all day.  However, to the north we're seeing a lot of sun especially around Portland.

Places like Salem didn't see much if any sun yesterday, because once the fog lifted it just lifted into an overcast cloud deck.  The same thing should happen today, with a little more sun in the northern portion of the valley vs. the southern portion.  We need a little wind to kick mix out the fog, and we won't have it today.  The metro area will see at least partly sunny skies..  It will be slow clearing, but still clearing.  Highs today will top out in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Tomorrow we'll start dry, but that won't last.  The coast and valley will see an increasing chance of rain Wednesday afternoon.  A number of warm and cold fronts will arrive Thursday through Sunday.  Look for occasional rain through the period.  None of the systems looks to be strong, but days of moisture should deliver more than a foot of snow up on Mt. Hood.
